| Applications Engineer: SUMMARY: To generate sales and ensure customer satisfaction by providing application, technical and product support to customers and win profitable business. To Provide technical and commercial support for the sales process including preparation of commercial/technical proposals and documents that define preliminary control system design, hardware requirements, etc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Provide objective customer/technical support application needs via phone or in-field support Provide technical support for sales employees, representatives, customers and information to order-entry group Understand and anticipate customer needs, and offer company solutions to meet those needs Develop proposals including pricing and product selection Product cross sell and up-sell Review customer orders for accuracy and technical compliance Provide application and product training; develop webinars and videos for repeatable customer training Identify new product and feature needs, and participate in objectively defining new product development initiatives and product validation tests Assist in the review of existing customer installations to look for process/product improvements and related economic justifications Develop and present application papers for common solutions and applications to customers in individual or society level sessions Use engineering studies and design documents with assistance from senior application engineer and other departments to generate basis of design and test requirement documents for successful product development projects Travel to customer sites •Troubleshoot products in applications and potentially service products in the field •Training seminars •Technical sales support working with customer’s engineers to identify and develop requirements for new application opportunities that would include use existing products, require enhancements to existing products, or for new products Travel to train sales representatives Education & Experience:•Minimum of a B.S. in Mechanical or Instrumental Engineering or related discipline from an accreditied University, a Masters Degree in Engineeirng is desirable. •Minimum Two years experience with turbomachinery, valve, instrumentation, diesel engine, and general-purpose controls is highly desirable •Recent experience in technical sales desired Knowledge & Skills: •Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products •Technical writing ability with emphasis on consultative selling approach •Language Skills: •Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, engineering drawings, bills of material, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively present information to top management, senior customer executives, and customer engineering staff memebers. •Must have excellent communication, organizational, multitasking and follow up skills.
