FUNCTION:

Under minimal supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, performs mechanical and visual inspection on a variety of complex machined parts and brazed assemblies to assure compliance with military and customer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs mechanical inspection using digital height stands, surface plates, coordinate measuring machines and various hand inspection tools.

2. Performs visual inspection to ensure that braze quality and workmanship standards are met.

3. Assists in maintaining all inspection records and documentation in accordance with government, customer, and Company standards.

4. Assists customer quality representatives during source inspection functions.

5. May perform source inspection at vendor sites.

6. Assists Quality Assurance during vendor audits.

7. Assists in the training of entry level inspectors.

8. Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school education or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of experience including the inspection of mechanical assemblies and interpreting Military Specifications. Ability to read blueprints in accordance with ANSI Y14.5M standards. Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing and strong math and communication skills. CMM Programming experience a must.
